From May to August 2018, I was a graduate intern at the Center for Research in Engineering, Media and Performance (REMAP) UCLA where I primarily focused on OpenPTrack. OpenPTrack is an open-source software that utilizes computer vision and imagers to allow the real-time tracking of many people in a large space. OpenPTrack has found uses in robotics, education, art among other uses. Knowledge gained was useful in my Master’s thesis.
As part of my internship I learned to use/became more familiar with the Linux Operating System, and Scripting. OpenPTrack also has, as part of its dependencies, the Robot Operating System(ROS) and OpenCV. I worked on testing of the Docker version of the software, a new module for Face Recognition and ensuring documents were updated on Github .
